Barfi! is a 2012 Indian romantic comedy film directed by Anurag Basu. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles. It was released on 14 September 2012 across 1750 screens in India and 350 screens overseas. The title was earlier credited as Khamoshiand Silence.

Plot

His parents named him Murphy, but everyone calls him Barfi! Always ready with a prank up his sleeve, he’s quite the charmer, especially with the ladies! In Darjeeling, Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor) is the talk of the town. Even though he can neither speak nor listen! His bitter-sweet relationship with two beautiful young ladies, Shruti (Ileana D’cruz) and Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra) sets in motion a chain of events that will turn his life upside down! Koel Mallick (Bengali: কোয়েল মল্লিক, born 28 April 1982) is an Indian actress who appears in Bengali and Tollywood films. She is a daughter of Bengaliactor Ranjit Mullick.

Koel was born in Kolkata, West Bengal to veteran Bengali actor Ranjit Mullick and his wife Deepa Mallick. Koel did her schooling from Modern High School for Girls, and she has also done B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology from the Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta.

Actress

Mallick's screen debut was in Haranath Chakraborty’s Nater Guru opposite Jeet. Nater Guru was an unsuccessful film at the box office. The film, released in 2003, marked Mullick's entry into Tollywood. Nater Guru, which has Jeet in the male lead, sees Mullick playing the role of a 23-year-old girl called Monica. Since the release of Nater Guru the pair has worked together often, appearing in nine films.

In 2004, she starred in Devipaksha, Shudhu Tumi, Badshah and Bandhan. While the first two performed poorly at the box office, Bandhan was a huge success in Bengal and was a Blockbuster at the Box office. It was also the highest grossing Bengali film of 2004.[1]

In 2005, Mullick appeared in Shubha Drishti, Manik, Juddha and Chorey Chorey Mastuto Bhai. She also appeared in Juddha opposite actors Mithun Chakraborty and Debasree Roy. The film recorded an initial collection of Rs. 1.2 crore in its first week. In 2006, she took on a more serious role in MLA Phatakeshto in which she played a reporter. She also starred in the Bengali remake of Love Story, the 2008 film Love.

Since 2009, She has given many Hits like Bolo Na Tumi Amar, Dui Prithibi, Paglu, 100% Love, Hemlock Society etc.Her upcoming releases are Paglu 2 and Dashami.

Synopsis

In the dark world of intelligence and espionage... all information is guarded in the name of national security... But some stories escape the fiercely guarded classified files... stories that become legends.

This is one such story... a story that shook the very foundation of this dark world.

In a government employees' neighbourhood in New Delhi, there lived a rugged, handsome and mys- terious bachelor about whom his neighbours knew nothing.

That was because he was India's top spy, an officer with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's external intelligence agency. This man was known even in official corridors as TIGER (Salman Khan).

Tiger is sent on a relatively easy and safe mission to Dublin, Ireland to observe a scientist of Indian origin who is suspected of sharing his research findings with the Pakistan defence establishment. Tiger attempts to meet the scientist but is not successful. He tries to befriend the scientist's part time home caretaker, Zoya (Katrina Kaif). As Tiger begins to get closer to Zoya... he begins to discover his human side.

For the first time in his life Tiger falls in love...

What follows is a tumultuous journey that Tiger and Zoya embark upon, battling the dark world of intelligence and espionage that forbids its soldiers from falling in love...

Indian actors in North American talk show - The Times of India

Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Boman Irani and Karisma Kapoor will feature in a North American talk show.

Five of Indian Cinema's favourite stars will be seen in a talk show series - 'Indian Cinema in Conversation' that will take off in the month May and will go on till month of August this year. The five-part series features in-depth conversations with Bollywood superstars like Kareena Kapoor, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Boman Irani and Karisma Kapoor.

Talking more about the show, Sudesh Sonawane,founder of Entertainment Synergies elaborates, "Indian cinema has gained popularity all over the globe. This will be the first of its kind show that will target the North American fans who will get an opportunity to see their favorite stars and ask questions of the stars live from their seats. It will be a different kind of experience for the audience to watch their favourite actors live interacting with them. Also it will be refreshing to see actors sharing talks about their personal lives, rare moments and experiences before the audience. We have just started with five actor and hope to bring in many more Indian actors in future too."

The talk show begin from May 6 with the legendary actor, director and producer Rishi Kapooralong with his wife Neetu Kapoor speaking about their incredible lives and journey through Indian cinema. The next show on June 16 will feature comedian actor Boman Irani who will regale audiences with his humour and insightful stories, and perhaps even sing a song at the show. On July 28, gorgeous and talented actor Neha Dhupia will take the stage for an intimate evening in conversation with the popular beauty queen as she shares her journey as one of the industry's truly evocative and unconventional actresses. The show will also include the Kapoor khandaan girls - Karisma and Kareena Kapoor. They will engage the audience with stories of their personal lives. Indian Cinema in Conversation is produced by Starvox Entertainment and Stephen A.C. Shinn Productions in association with Entertainment Synergies.
